This video focuses on the Nazis’ implementation of a Eugenics program
The passing of the Law for the Prevention of Offspring with Hereditary Diseases was a key part of the Nazis plans for an Aryan Race (blond hair / blue eyes - idea. ironically Aryan’s originated in Northern India but seems Hitler’s people didnt realize that)

Wow!!! unbelievable, all ideas from America could be dangerous today, we now see data genetrics,cohlear implant, AVT are working to prevent learning ASL in early childhood. This is beginning! Thanks for educating me!

I have this book in my collection. I am glad to see you vlog about it.
Just this past Thanksgiving, I learned that my Jewish great uncle, my late deaf grandmother’s brother, went to WWII. I am proud of him for what he did and he was lucky to come home at the end of the war. Those people in the battle during WWII are true heroes.
I am certain that my great uncle had no idea about deaf people and sterilization. My mom and aunt wouldn’t be here if had my grandparents been sterilized. He adored his nieces.
Imperfection is what makes us all human.

tortolla - Lane, padden, humphries, lane, bauman and many others write about current types of linguistic and cultural genocides and the “occupation / colonalization” of Deaf bodies and minds
they would agree with u re: some of the new methods of “normalizing” Deaf people
my concern is when we examine this systematic “hearingization” of deaf people,we also recognize that it will never be fully successful and instead of vilifying Deaf people who use CI or were raised orally or parents who choose AVT - we should recognize them as family and share what we know and love and offer it to them if they so desire it
in terms of genetic engineering or eugenics - the above cant apply because the result is for those individuals not to exist so much more dire and urgent
katherine - glad ur uncle survived as did ur mom and aunt because without ur mom we would not have u on this earth
diversity of the human kind is an amazing and beautiful thing
in terms of heroes - once a student said to me “i consider ever survivor of the Holocaust to be a hero simply by virtue of their choosing to go one each and everyday in the face of such inhumanity”
i would add to that that their choice to retain their own humanity is the most admirable trait of their survival and their message of love over hate - unimaginable and the most beautiful lesson for us to learn. Love is always more powerful than hate

You are forgiven cuz rowling tapped something sacred. Biesold and the names you mention are the people who give the Deaf community “ammunition” to fight for and achieve optimal world where deaf people, especially deaf childen, thrive.
The long hidden truth of the Deaf legacy thousands of deaf people endured up to now is yet to be signed out. Until dDeaf people have their own sacred story, the deaf question - to be or not to be will slowly be solved.
