CDT A Pryamid?
CDT had consistently denied that it is a pyramid scheme.
However, a very new Deaf CDT salesperson reported to me an e mail she got from her Deaf CDT Manager:
From: xxxxx
To: xxxxx
Date: xxxxx
Ok sure will do that becuz cdt is not illegal it is a different kind of
prymaid scheme and even wayyy better than anything in life lol! So its
for real investment alike though… But worth the try hell yeah! Lol ok
bye smile

Identities blotted out for privacy reasons. The message itself is left intact. This has already been forwarded to the MD Attorney General.
This was sent to reassure a concerned Deaf CDT salesperson shortly after my alerts on CDT surfaced last fall.
Doesn’t this message contradict CDT’s statement that it is not a pyramid scheme?
“Wayyy better than anything in life”? If a deal sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
Rule of thumb: Anytime one is uncertain whether to make an investment, using one’s hard earned money, seek professional advice from a certified financial investment person or an attorney.
This blog will be moderated as I will not be a party to any promotion of investments not cleared by the Attorney General of Maryland. Any promotions left here will also be forwarded to the Attorney General for their review, as usual.
For previous blogs on CDT, click on these two below, which remain still heavily traifficked to this day:
http://mishkazena.wordpress.com/2006/11/14/illegal-pyramid-scheme-targeted-at-md-deaf-people/
http://mishkazena.wordpress.com/2006/11/17/canadian-diamonds-trader-a-pyramid/
Again I will not publish any comments claiming CDT a credible financial scheme unless I hear from Maryland Attorney General first. As of now, they cannot vouch for this corporation.
Personally I will never invest money in these financial schemes, especially those being touted to get you rich quickly. I’ve seen too many deaf people victimized by these mostly illegal schemes.
P.S. Now I am hearing more about two other financial ‘investment’ programs, Quixtar and Club Freedom. My advice still stands: Anytime you are asked to invest money, check with your financial investment advisor. Many offer their services at no cost, so why not go see them?
PSS. No comments promoting any financial scheme will be printed.

Busted!
March 12th, 2007 at 12:40 pm
You’re exactly RIGHT! It is beyond me why some people continue to involve themselves in such schemes, one failure after another. Whenever someone approaches me about such a scheme, I tell them that I’M NOT INTERESTED, PERIOD. When will people ever learn?!?!?
March 12th, 2007 at 1:12 pm
Quixtar is a joke. I can’t believe how many people fall for their stupid presentations. Wait a year and see where those people are. Yeah, most of them aren’t involved anymore! If you need any more evidence, just google it. You’ll find loads of people who were scammed by them.
March 12th, 2007 at 1:19 pm
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia:
“In 2004, Dateline NBC aired a report, alleging that some high-level Quixtar IBOs make most of their money from selling motivational materials rather than Quixtar products [10]. Quixtar declined to respond on camera, instead publishing an official Quixtar Response website.[11] Quixtar states on its response site that Dateline declined their request to link to the site. Another response page can be found at [4]
Quixtar is currently involved in litigation with the tools businesses of Former Crown Distributor Kenny Stewart and Double Diamond Brig Hart.[15] There is another class action lawsuit in California [16] that has been acknowledged by Quixtar [17].”

Lawsuits and class actions? Not good news about Quixtar!

Club Freedom is Panzi Scheme said this is not good because must use the money for Vacation but IRS could tell them must pay back to IRS. Deaf People should think to straight out from which is best right from NO SCAMMER. Deaf people need to think about it from CDT and CF is “Gullible†make sure. Try to help to Deaf people. Can’t be in dream so fast.
God Bless!!
March 12th, 2007 at 1:47 pm
For Club Freedom, alot of deaf people did not realized that they MUST spend 6k on CF vacation expenses.. If they dont use the money for vacation from CF, they will be billed.. Thats why when they became CF member, they go to CF Vacations with 6k.. So they will have to pay back if they cant be able to attend CF vacations as often..
March 12th, 2007 at 2:23 pm
Is it possible for deaf people who have been scammed by these companies to file a class action suit or not? Cuz many of these companies are misleading a lot of deafies and often withhold some important information and then these deafies end up losing so much money. I am aware that it is at one’s risk but its happening too many times to deaf people and I think we are sometimes vulerable to these scams as we need money to survive.
March 12th, 2007 at 2:30 pm
Of course. I wish they will do this, to send a message to other deaf people that if they are victimized, they have the legal resource to fight back. .
Unfortunately, in this deaf community, even the victims will protect the scam leaders because they are deaf, too. Then it becomes a vicious cycle. These scam artists will continue to rip off more deaf people, knowing that they will get away because the victims won’t stand up for their rights. Trying to protect the deaf scam artists hurt the deaf community more in the long run. The only way to stop it is to make these deaf lawbreakers accountable for their illegal actions. If the deaf people are trying to steal your money, they are NOT your friends.

FYI
Pyramid Scheme Alert (PSA) is an independent organization and it’s a good way to keep a track of the pyramid schemes…

Sometime ago, when one of these pyramid schemes was the Alpha Club, or something of the sorts, a friend of mine came to my home to give me a presentation. I refused to join since I don’t believe in those schemes. Anyway, that friend of mi told me I would be sorry and that he, in two years, would be rich with a nice home, cars, boats, etc. you name it. Tell you what? That friend more than 5 years later is as poor or poorer than before. I still remind him of what he told me and he gets mad. He was, certainly, taken for a fool!!!
March 12th, 2007 at 9:39 pm
Can someone explain why CDT is a scam? Please let me know the facts. I know CF is a pyramid for sure.
March 12th, 2007 at 9:42 pm
According to this government, CDT is a pyramid: http://www.docep.wa.gov.au/ConsumerProtection/scamnet/Scams/Canadian_Diamond_Tra.html“
In this country, this finanical scheme is being investigated by MD State Attorney General who issued a cautionary warning. It hasn’t been cleared yet by this state regulatory agency.
Then we have this e mail where a CDT manager told a rookie saleperson that CDT is a ‘different’ kind of pyramid scheme. I found this disclosure very revealing.
March 12th, 2007 at 10:04 pm
Can I have a copy of this “email” can you post it?
March 12th, 2007 at 10:13 pm
The copy of the e mail has already been posted in the article. Due to confidentiality, I cannot elaborate any further except that the e mail is 100%
authentic.
March 12th, 2007 at 10:24 pm
What part of this don’t you understand?
“No comments promoting any financial scheme will be printed.”
Readers are advised to check with their certified financial planner, lawyer, or investment manager before investing in a financial scheme.
March 12th, 2007 at 10:45 pm
It is so sad to see how some of my Deaf friends who have joined the Quixter are “brainwashed” into that stuffs. It is scary. One of my Deaf friends Imed me a several time about this. I had to be very firm and told him to get a life! He hasn’t responsed back to me ever since. I sure MZ’s quote helps to be aware of this. Keep us posted about the result from the Attorney General of MD.
March 12th, 2007 at 11:03 pm
It seems too many deaf people are always losing money to these get rich quick schemes.
When will they ever learn from their mistakes?
March 13th, 2007 at 12:23 am
What are the strengths of each financial schemes? Me curious
March 13th, 2007 at 12:27 am
Yeah, got some friends who tried to convince me to join CF. I kept saying “NO- if any programs are not clear, then I’m not going to hand over my hard-worked money” Problem with folks (including hearing, deaf, etc)…instant gratification!
March 13th, 2007 at 12:37 am
It is not my position to stress the positives of each financial scheme, since I am not a financial planner. Not only are they too murky, they are also too controversial.  Hence you won’t get any here in this blog from me or from any commenters. Â
My advice is to seek opinions from professionally-trained financial experts who are knowledgable with the laws and can make recommendations, based on your needs and the risk factors. He may tell you that all of them are illegal. Perhaps not.
March 13th, 2007 at 3:30 am
Wow I found this helpful blog site to help me understand why deaf people love pyramid scheme. I’ve been asked by more than 15 times by dozen different people to join Club Freedom. I’m not convinced, Im not interested in the pyramid thing regardless. I’ve been asked same thing with the CDT, Good things I turned all down. Isn’t it amazed? Why? Because when things are not clear, then there’s no point for me to join. I am well educated and I understand scam and identity thefts are blossomed everywhere.
March 13th, 2007 at 11:36 am
Yestersday I made a comment about misunderstanding in xxxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx. Today I checked the comment and found my comment was not there. I wonder if my comment was very offesne? I do not think so.
I know there is very hot issue ! ! !
So wish everyone good luck with money ! ! !
March 13th, 2007 at 4:19 pm
Dave, your comment wasn’t offensive, however it can be interpreted as an attempt to promote a scheme because you were discussing specific details of a financial scheme, whether it was your intention or not. Since it remains uncertain whether these programs have any credibility and it’s not my job to determine the credibility of each program, your comment wasn’t published, just like any other commenters who want to peddle these schemes. If these consumers misunderstood the program, you can suggest that they consult their neutral certified financial managers who can then explain them in details.

I’m so UPSET about Club Freedom! I joined early when it was starting online last year. I recruited several deaf and hearing and got $6,000 in approx 4 months. It was like full time job. I spent my money then CF took back money charged over limit on my Visa. Same Visa I used to join CF last year. I complained and complained I was furious! I discover that I can’t use $6,000 for personal things CF require you to buy gift package (vacation, cruise, etc). I didn’t know when I sign up and start recruiting. Now stuck with damn Visa bill with high interest. I can’t money back. I will never join anything again!

The ACCC came to my house to investigate about club freedom. They did not arrest me because I told them what I know. Now the owners are hiding out, just a short period of time until they are gone.

I was fooled for two times, once when I was in Gallaudet, and once in 1998, made me realize they are FAKE, and good enough, more and more scheme are growing because I think, they believe it worked sometimes due to gullible people thinking its quick-fix to the rich. Sad that people will hurt other people.
