Cargill TV commerical - Is that farmer……

The Cargill animal feed advertising on television shows a Cargill truck coming onto a farm honking to let the farm animals know that the food/feed is on its way.

Have you seen that advertisement on TV? Since it’s a farm type of advertisement and would guess that maybe New York City and other similar cities would not have those type of advertisement on TV.

Well, since I live in Minnesota where Cargill have their company around and maybe that is why I see it on TV everyday.

The thing about this advertisement on TV is that there is no verbal communication and I notice that the farmer seem to be startled when the animals got excited as they heard the honking of the Cargill delivery truck coming onto the farm and the farmer went out of the barn to see what the commotion was all about and saw the delivery driver.

The farmer still did not say a word and held up his hands and said three – using the thumb and two fingers, which was the ASL sign for three!

But the dog barked as if he was upset with the amount of having “three” bags of feed and at the same time the horse behind the farmer gave a push as if the horse was not happy. And the farmer still did not say a single word and held up his hand and said five.

My wife and I have seen this commercial so many times and we are positive that this farmer is DEAF!!!

We love this commercial and you definitely would too.

Have any of you’ve seen this Cargill commercial?
Please do tell me if you had the same thought if you have seen it.

Oh, by the way, it is getting warmer here in Minnesota now and it’s time to go fishing!!! As of today, 27th of April, at my cabin in Babbitt, Minnesota, the lake is still ice covered!!! But no sweat, I will be able to get to my cabin that is on an island on May 11th for the fishing opener with my boat.

Maybe you want hear some fishing news from me?….but remember, fishermen are liars. But don’t worry about me, I don’t lie…. but I might fib a little,… guess it’s a fun habit.

Your fishing guide,
John F. Egbert
