Interim Director, Dr. Jay Gense passed this information to the general deaf public yesterday.

Here’s his message, abeit very brief….

Interview Team - I’m forwarding a message I sent to all OSD staff earlier today. I identify that each of the candidates we’ll be interviewing on Tuesday will also be on campus on Monday. There will be an opportunity for staff, parents, and the community to informally meet with each of the candidates at identified times. I want you to know that you also are welcome to participate during these times on Monday to the extent you choose. It’s certainly not required, but I wanted you to know that it’s an option if you choose.

Thanks

Jay

My sources said there’s at least 4 candidates who applied and all locals, at least two formerly worked at OSD (don’t know if Mulholland is accepted as one of candidates but she was encouraged to apply - which she did.)

BTW, the status concerning two bills in state legislative is stalled in Ways and Means committee and the Senate President is trying to get the bills moved forwarded. He is very proactive along with the sponsors, one a Senator whose husband is Chair of the State Board of Education - a separate agency apart from the ODE and this board has powers to modify any actions made by the ODE.
