After reading the Process and Timelines released by ODE,
Let’s make sure the members of committee are PRO – OSD and anti-ODE!
How come there is NO NO ONE ONE representing the OSDAA (OSD Alumni Association) ???? the Alumni are the true stakeholders! OSDAA is not same as OAD or Oregon Deaf & HoH Services Program.

Stacked Deck!! After reading the composition of the Search Committee, and the timelines, its clear to me that THIS IS A JOKE! With a Committee that large, it will be impossible for everyone to work together, and even agree on an agenda! People with vastly different perspectives are being asked to agree on candidates, and represent various interest groups needs/wishes. I predict the entire process will be bogged down within 2 weeks after the Committee is set up, leaving ODE “no choice” but take total control of the search process and appoint their own candidate. They can use the excuse that, “The Search Committee failed so we had to take over!”
This looks like disaster waiting to happen… tick, tick, tick…

Big protest rally this afternoon with large influx of parents and their children (it’s Friday!). Already some young students with their parents were at protest yesterday – as evident from the last photo (the fuzzy one)
I did the counting of members of the committee…
3 OSD parents
1 OSD staff (SEIU – teachers)
1 OSD staff (STEA – non-teachers)
1 OSD staff (management – meaning the principals, head of dorm counselors, etc)
1 LEA representative (special education directors in local school districts)
2 reg reps (regional programs – they’re under OSD direct supervision)
2 community groups (that’s OAD and OR-Deaf/HoH Services Program)
of these, that can be counted – parents, OAD and OR-Deaf/HoH Services program), quite possible – 2 reg reps.
STEA rep remains to be seen depending on how strong Mulholland faction is.
Management staff is split because it is known at least one of them is very strong audist.
the other reps might be handpicked by Dennis.

To all, I got the unions switched. STEA is Teachers and SEIU is non-teaching staff – such as maintenance, dorm counselors, etc.
