Read the last paragraph! ODE can NOT sell it. If it closes the Blind School, then the property must be returned to family of Asahel Bush. There are great grandchildren and great great grandchildren living in the area and they are among the stockholders in US National Bank of Portland Oregon.
Asahel Bush founded Oregon Statesman (later Statesman-Journal). Was a friend of William S. Smith and made available the property for School for the Deaf back then before Deaf School outgrew and moved to bigger location.
