OK, I know I just posted, but this was too cool. The sign for China shows two versions. The first is sort of a traced 7 on the chest, which according to my previous link on indigenous signs/PC/offensivness, etc is sometimes offensive to folks because of the Maoist connotations (imagine the Mao jacket being outlined by the sign). The second one, though, looks to me like it’s imitating the ideogram for China, the old qin or “center” symbol (which you can also find as the “red dragon” mahjong symbol) which is tres cool…
