I’ve been watching lots of ASL vlogs. I still don’t understand 95% of them and such, but it doesn’t really matter, I’m also just trying to get a feel for how it looks, the rhythm, etc. One thing I’ve noticed, which is just as ironical as all get out, the ones I have the most trouble with are when the person speaks while signing. Four decades (ouch) of lipreading snap my attention to the person’s face and I have a hard time seeing the signs.

I’m sure once the signs start making sense, this will be less of a problem. But I was amused to note how strongly I focus on the face! Ah well.
