movie night!

This time I’m going to point you toward a number of videos, some clips others much longer, but I think all food for thought. Get the popcorn!

Swedish Deaf TV Perspektiv on Laurent, S.D.. This consists of interviews of deaf folk from all walks of life.

This one’s a clip of a longer show that will be released soon: 9/11 Fear in Silence: The Forgotten Underdogs

I thought this was fascinating - coming up with a written form for ASL: Deaf Perspectives on SignWriting

I’ve mentioned Banjo’s vlogs before, and I like this one, it discusses another subject of great interest to me which is deaf education: Educationally Flawed

And finally, keep an eye out for this, it promises to be very interesting: “Through Deaf Eyes,” a two-hour PBS documentary exploring nearly 200 years of Deaf life in America, will air early next year. The film was inspired by the exhibition, “History Through Deaf Eyes,” curated by Jack R. Gannon of Gallaudet University. The documentary will air nationally on PBS on Wednesday, March 21 at 9 p.m. ET (check local listings).
