Finally flagging down a bartender, I kindly gesture for a paper and pen, which is handed to me. As I write my drink order, the bartender takes someone else’s order.
Is this right? Courteous?

I drove up to a parking attendant prior to entering a parking lot. I had a hearing passenger. I hate it when… if I’m with someone, and I go up to, say, a store counter, and try to communicate with the clerk standing on the other side of the counter. Familiar with the scenario? Happens all the time, right? Well, because I’m deaf, the clerk is caught off-guard. Understandably.
