$1,000,000 to Deaf Schools - Follow up
Hello Everyone!
As you may already have ‘heard’ about Georgia’s State Superintendent of Schools, Kathy Cox who won one million dollars from the TV game show, “Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader?” on September 5, 2008…
AND…
She gave away her winnings to three state schools (two deaf schools and one blind school). Please visit this link.
This blog is to follow-up about what happened…
Please watch the video to give you a general idea how it looked like. (I noticed something is wrong with the video because there were some missing segments from Good Morning America. Sorry! Scroll down to see the link to the video from Good Morning America.)
Last Friday, ABC’s Good Morning America contacted Atlanta Area School for the Deaf (AASD) informing that Kathy Cox is planning to visit school for the interview. With so much anticipation, the AASD staff were preparing for the interview on Tuesday early morning. An huge TV truck with satellite video uplink came and parked at the front of the school around 4:45am. The group of TV technicians set up a lot of wires, camera, sound and lighting equipment all over in the room. The dark classroom became very bright with floodlights and spotlights aiming at filming area.
Kathy Cox was at the middle in the classroom surrounded with five Deaf students sitting on their tables watching at the camera for bit over 30 minutes. Then, the interview started at 7:43am and it went for only 30 seconds. AASD interpreter was there to convey the students what Ms. Cox was saying. The interview went by very quickly.

Lastly, but not the least… I gotta to have a pix of myself with Kathy Cox! Maybe I can ‘rub’ off some lady luck out of her!

Wish me luck!
